4. Speeches and Articles by Eduardo Mondlane

Eduardo Mondlane reading at desk

Above: Eduardo Mondlane the intellectual, reading in a book-lined study. But this was not to be the path that he followed; instead, he dedicated himself to the liberation of Mozambique from Portuguese colonialism, a cause for which he was killed.

Mondlane was not a prolific writer, but as a young man tried his hand at drama, wrote about poetry, and even did some translation. His writings include some biographical material as well as articles on the liberation struggle and its politics. See also the US website Aluka for more materials by Mondlane (click here, may require subscription).
